Casting Crowns and Christian movie "Courageous" took home home awards at the K-LOVE fan awards this weekend for Group/Duo of the Year and Movie Impact.
Provident Music Group which also includes Provident Label Group and Provident Films represents Casting Crowns and "Courageous"
PMG received 13 nominations across seven categories, and their artists represented nine of the live performances at the show.
"It is a privilege for Provident to be in partnership with such talented artists and to have songs and messages produced that translate and encourage peoples' lives on a daily basis," said Provident Label Group's Vice President of Marketing, Bryan Ward, in a release. "For K-LOVE to provide this first-ever experience for fans to express their voice in the selection process, and to be nominated and receive wins for these awards, it is truly an honor for all of us at Provident Music Group."
Casting Crowns had a great year for the label. They had three GRAMMY nominations as well as an album going 2x platinum and one Gold. Casting Crowns also completed their most successful tour to date.
The "Come to the Well" tour had the band in 40 sellout arenas for a total of 370,000 people with tickets purchased.
Their latest spring tour for their Acoustic Sessions: Volume 1, has sold out 12 of 18 dates, and it was so successful they added a fall leg.
"Courageous" definitely deserved the Impact award because of its success in the mainstream media. It was No. 4 in the box office, making $34 million and debuting at the No. 1 spot when released on DVD, passing movies such as "Moneyball" and "Abduction."
The K-LOVE awards show was held in front of a sold out crowd at Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tenn. on Saturday. The three-day event was the first totally fan-voted Christian awards show.
Performers for the event included: TobyMac, Amy Grant and Steven Curtis Chapman, Michael W. Smith, Third Day, Matthew West, Casting Crowns, Natalie Grant with Kari Jobe, Audio Adrenaline, Newsboys, Matt Maher with Brandon Heath and Bart Millard of MercyMe, Francesca Battistelli, and more.
"The hope of the K-LOVE Fan Awards was to have the fans acknowledge members of the Christian community for their impact of serving the Kingdom through their lives," shares Mike Novak, K-LOVE's President & CEO through Merge PR. "By all measure, it was a huge success!"
