'Castle' News, Update: Stana Katic Teases Event That Could Change Season 8 Completely
Filming for the upcoming 8th Season of ABC's hit police-procedural TV drama series "Castle" has begun this week, according to reports. Stana Katic, who plays one of the lead roles in the series Kate Beckett, recently teased a particular event that is poised to change the course of the new chapter.
She revealed to Deadline that Episode 1 and 2 of Season 8 is "brother and sister" where each tackles on Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett's perspective on "an event that shifts the entire season into a higher velocity."
Such events will be "part of what will set everything up for the next 20 episodes."
The newly signed producer of the show said that "part of the exciting thing about this season is the way [new showrunners] Alexi [Hawley] and Terence [Paul Winter] have envisioned the cosmic version of why the two characters (Castle and Beckett) have come together, how did these roads combine. It delves into the mythology of Rick's disappearance and memory loss as well as into what inspired Beckett to become a cop in the first place."
As to whether or not Season 8 will be "Castle's" last run, Katic said that it would be too early to consider such thoughts.
"I don't know what is going to happen with Castle and its future as we are at the beginning of what this season is going to be," she explained."As an actor, if we can tell many stories and have a creatively fulfilling experience, we love to jump and explore a character."
"Castle" Season 8 premieres Monday, Sept. 21 at 10/9c on ABC.
