'Castle' Season 6 Spoilers: Castle's Father is 'Not All That He Seems'

The hit show "Castle" returns for the 2014 television season on Jan 16. For spoilers about what's to come in that episode and the rest of the season from actors and producers of the show, read on.

On the Jan 16 episode, it appears that Rick Castle, played by Nathan FIllion, will be reunited with his father, Jackson Hunt, played by James Brolin.

Kate Beckett, Castle's fiancé, is very suspicious of Brolin. The actress who plays Beckett, Stana Katic recently spoke to TV Guide about the father's return to the show.

Her character "has a big question about Jackson's true motives. He's not all that he seems," Katic said.

Brolin explained what he wanted with his role as Jackson Hunt to TV Guide.

"I wanted viewers to find out how deadly he is. He gets a thrill out of terminating people who deserve it. The thrill is there, with no feeling of remorse. [Hunt] talks down to his son like he's 5 years old and is very attracted to Kate. That's the kind of a--hole he is," Brolin said.

Other plotlines are carrying their share of action as well in the 2014 season of "Castle." Detective Kevin Ryan, played by Seamus Dever, will become a father. Dever spoke to TV Guide about the drama of the baby's birth.

"Not only does it look as though Ryan may not be there to watch the birth of his child. He may not live to see the baby at all," Dever said.

It also seems as if a date has been set for the marriage of Castle and Beckett, though executive producer Andrew Marlowe is staying tightlipped about it.

"I don't think we're close enough to reveal it," he said to TV Guide about the wedding date.
