A series of promotional photos posted by the network features guest actor Roshawn Franklin getting chased by detectives Ryan (Seamus Dever) and Esposito (Jon Huertas) which gives off the notion that the character might have something to do with the lawyer's death.

A report from KPopStarz pointed out the show's uncertainty of getting served with another season. The actor admits he still didn't get any news about Season 8.

"I don't know [what's] going to happen, and, to be honest, no one has talked to me ... about next season. I'd like to have some answers because my family wants to know if I'm going to be employed. But right now it's really up in the air," Dever told TV Guide.

The show's co-lead star Katic shared on her social media that the current season might be the show's last. However, executive producer David Amann remains hopeful about the renewal issue and promises more stunning developments for the present season.

"We're hopeful that everything gets resolved," Amann said. "We have thought about a bunch [of] different scenarios, but our main obligation is just to our audience and delivering great shows. We're just building the best end of the season that we can."

"Castle" Season 7 airs Monday at 10 p.m. on ABC.
