Celine Dion News: Breaks Down About Ailing Husband; Singer Returning to Las Vegas
Admired for her unparalleled singing ability and unwavering love and devotion for her husband, singer Celine Dion recently revealed the real condition of her spouse, Rene Angelil, and announced her return to the stage.
The 46-year-old Canadian performer broke down in tears as she revealed the dire condition of her husband and manager, who is currently battling with throat cancer.
"He can't eat so I feed him," the "My Heart Will Go On" hitmaker said on "Good Morning America." "He's got a feeding tube. I have to feed him three times a day."
"We are taking life one day at a time, [but] we are choosing to live," she went on to say.
The best-selling Canadian artist reportedly took an indefinite leave from the stage last year to attend to Angelil, who was diagnosed with cancer for a second time. The first was in 1999, and at that time, she also opted to take a hiatus.
To the delight of many fans, Dion also revealed that she will finally resume her residency at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas -- a move she said her husband desired and supported.
"It was Rene's wish that I come back," the "Power of Love" singer wrote in a statement. "He wants me to sign again and I want to do this with him."
"While my family will always be my priority, my fans are just as important to me. I look forward to performing again for all of you," she went on to say.
Celine Dion will be returning to stage at Caesar's Palace on Aug. 27 this year.
