Chad Johnson, the wide receiver accused of assaulting his wife Evelyn Lozada on Saturday, has been cut by the Miami Dolphins over his arrest following the domestic violence incident.

The 11-year NFL veteran has found himself unemployed just one month after signing on as the Dolphins' wide receiver following his June 7 release from the New England Patriots after just one season.

Johnson, 34, was accused of head-butting Lozada, 37, in a dispute over a condom receipt, although he allegedly told police that it was his wife of just 5 weeks who was actually the aggressor. Fans of Johnson flocked to social networking site Twitter immediately after he was released from jail on $2500, and many blasted Lozada over the debacle.

"All the facts haven't come out 2 say who was 2 blame 4 the Chad Johnson/ Evelyn situation but after marrying her he's unemployed & arrested," Tony Anderson tweeted.

"I am in no way condoning what Chad Johnson did because violence is b-------, but I can't help but think Evelyn is partially to blame," Allison tweeted.

"I don't blame Chad though, sorry. Evelyn Lozada is an ignorant, drama hungry h------. Before her, Johnson had NEVER had legal trouble," one Twitter follower with the username "Out Rae Geous" tweeted.

Lozada, star of popular reality TV show "Basketball Wives," is often criticized for engaging in violent behavior and bullying on the hit Vh1 show.

Although she is yet to speak out regarding Saturday's incident, it is understood that she confronted Johnson after discovering a receipt for condoms which is reportedly when violence ensued, according to Davie Police Department Capt. Dale Engle.

"It gets pretty heated," Engle told The Sun Sentinel. "By the time they get home here in Davie it's pretty heated. She alleges he leaned over and head butted her. He says she leaned towards him and that they butted heads. Needless to say, she has a good laceration on her forehead."

Johnson was arrested at the scene and taken into police custody before posting bail the following day. Lozada was treated at the scene for her head injuries before being transported to Westside Regional Hospital.

Johnson proposed to Lozada on Nov. 16, 2010 just months after meeting her on Twitter and the couple tied the knot in the Caribbean on July 4. The entire event was filmed for their upcoming reality TV show "Ev and Ocho."

Johnson has been ordered to stay away from Lozada until his domestic violence charges are resolved.
