Chad 'Ochocinco' Johnson Apologizes for Domestic Dispute With Evelyn Lozada, Fans Accept

Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson has officially released his first statement regarding allegations that he head-butted reality television star wife Evelyn Lozada, which resulted in their pending divorce, the loss of their joint television show, and him being cut from the Miami Dolphins roster.

In a statement posted on Johnson's OchoCinco News Network website, the 34-year-old wide receiver apologized to all who heard about the recent domestic violence incident with his 36-year-old wife, Lozada.

"I would like to apologize to everyone for the recent events that have occurred. I would like to wish Evelyn well and will never say anything bad about her because I truly love her to death," Johnson said in the statement on his website. "I will continue to be positive and train hard for another opportunity in the NFL. To all the fans and supporters I have disappointed, you have my sincerest apologies."

Johnson's apology comes on the heels of Lozada releasing her own announcement concerning the incident. In an ET statement, the "Basketball Wives" star expressed sadness and disappointment regarding the incident that took place on Aug. 11 and called for Johnson to seek help.

"It is with great sadness and much trepidation that I release this statement addressing the domestic violence incident that happened this past Saturday. I am deeply disappointed that Chad has failed to take responsibility for his actions and made false accusations against me, it is my sincere hope that he seeks the help he needs to overcome his troubles," Lozada said. "Domestic violence is not okay and hopefully my taking a stand will help encourage other women to break their silence as well. I'm grateful to my family, friends and fans for the outpouring of support during this difficult time," she tells ET exclusively in a statement."

Close to 300 fans of Johnson, an 11 year NFL veteran, took to his website to offer their support for the wide receiver who is currently out of a job.

"I support Chad Johnson. Everyone makes mistakes," one fan wrote on the website, in a comment that was liked by 248 people at press time. "I seriously doubt he did anything truly harmful to Evelyn. This appears as an easy way to make millions of dollars from the hard work of an overall good guy."

Other fans encouraged Johnson with God and prayer.

"Be encouraged Chad," another fan wrote with close to 98 people liking the comment at press time. "Get in a quiet place and seek God. Nothing's too hard for him."

In his statement, Johnson insisted that he would remain positive throughout the ordeal.

"I will stay positive and get through this tough period in my life," Johnson assured fans.

Lozada reportedly filed for divorce from Johnson on Tuesday, after exchanging vows with the wide receiver on July 4. While Lozada will reportedly press charges against Johnson, the case is still pending.
