Charles Manson's 'Lost Girls' Get Their Own Lifetime Movie
If the TV series "Aquarius" is revisiting the crimes of Charles Manson and his fanatic group of "believers" from the perspective of law enforcement, another TV network wants to take a deeper look at the "believers" themselves. Lifetime TV recently greenlighted a TV movie about the group of teenaged girls who took part in Manson's criminal activities.
The TV movie is tentatively titled "Manson's Lost Girls" and it is supposed to be an original movie about the group of teenaged girls who "fell under Charles Manson's spell" and helped perpetrate the gruesome killings that Manson intended to "start an apocalyptic war," according to a report in Deadline.
According to another report in Time, the movie's story will follow one of the girls, Linda Kasabian as she joined the hippie commune Spahn Ranch, thinking how open they were when they accepted Linda and her baby girl without any question or judgement. Kasabian later on testifies against Manson and his followers during the trial for the murder of Sharon Tate.

Lifetime's official description of the movie is as follows:
"Lost Girls follows the story of Linda Kasabian as she first meets 'the family' at the seemingly idyllic Spahn Ranch hippie commune, where she and her baby daughter are embraced with open arms. Seduced by the group's free-love lifestyle, Linda revels in a profound sense of sisterhood and acceptance. She is especially taken with Manson, who soon draws her into criminal activities, including late-night creepy crawls breaking into and stealing from lavish homes."
"Linda begins to see the evil in Manson, but the others remain fiercely loyal. Once she becomes an accomplice in what Manson calls Helter Skelter, a drug-fueled murder spree that included the brutal death of actress Sharon Tate and her unborn child, Linda breaks away and turns herself in as a witness for the prosecution. Her testimony helps lead to the conviction of Manson and his followers for the infamous Tate-LaBianca murders."
The movie already has a complete cast which includes "Into the Woods" MacKenzie Mauzy as Linda, Eden Brolin of "I Dream Too Much" as Susan Atkins and Greer Grammer of "Awkward" as Leslie Van Houten. Van Houten, Atkins and Kasabian were the group of teenaged girls who followed Manson. Jeff Ward of "The Mentalist" will play Charles Manson, while Christian Madsen of "Divergent" will play a Manson family member Tex Watson.
The film has yet to get an air date.
