The Charlie Brown voice actor, Peter Robbins, has been arrested on various charges including accusations of stalking.
Robbins is famous for portraying Charlie Brown in many episodes of "Peanuts" and is connected with one of the world's most popular cartoon characters. However, the voice actor has seemingly suffered a fall from grace after his arrest.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesperson, Angelica de Cima, has said Robbins was arrested at the weekend at the San Ysidro Port of Entry.
The spokesperson has said to U-T San Diego that a simple background check produced results that revealed a warrant against Robbins from the San Diego County sheriff's department.
Precise details about the warrant were not made immediately available from the sheriff's department's spokesman. However, it has been reported that the 56 year old voice actor will be arraigned on Wednesday on numerous counts. The charges are reported to include making a threat to cause death or great bodily injury and of stalking, according to UK newspaper, The Telegraph.
Requests for comments to the voice actor's manager have gone unanswered.
Meanwhile the popular cartoon featuring Charlie Brown and Snoopy looks like its fame will continue. It was previously reported that a new big screen version of the cartoon would be prepared for release in 2015. The screenplay is reportedly being written by the grandson of the cartoon's creator Charles M Schulz.
Speaking about the film last year Robbins had said, "If it's to reintroduce the character of Charlie Brown to a new generation, it's been passed on successfully for 46 years. That's the beauty of it. It just seems to me they're trying to steal the thunder of these great classics."
