Charlize Theron Doesn't Hide Her Excitement to Play Furiosa in Mad Max Once Again

Last year's Mad Max: Fury Road was a total success based on the widespread critical acclaim and the fact that it earned more than double its budget. The film was even named by many critics and publications as one of the best for 2015.

Part of that success is American-South African actress Charlize Theron, who played as the fearless but soft-hearted Imperator Furiosa. Well, some even go the extent of saying that Furiosa may have outshined the film's main protagonist, Max Rockatansky, played by Tom Hardy.

And with rumors that a sequel is good to go, Theron knows she definitely wants to be Furiosa once again. In an interview with MTV News during the promotion of her new film, The Huntsman: Winter's War, the 40-year old actress couldn't hide her excitement when the Mad Max film was mentioned. She appreciated the fact that people went to praise the first film since she and the rest worked hard for it. "Yeah, I'd love to play this woman again, definitely," she added.

In the earlier screening of the film, there was some concern that Hardy's character wouldn't appeal to viewers due to the fact that wanted nothing but to escape and leave everyone else. But Imperator Furiosa sort of represented what a typical audience wants – a female hero who does not wear a sexy outfit or a nice smile. She's strong, independent, and brutal.

But the return of Furiosa or a sequel of the film itself isn't a sure thing, though, especially with the trend of Mad Max flicks in the past. Perhaps the only one who can make it happen is its director, George Miller. Though he earlier stated that his mind isn't made up yet when it comes to giving Furiosa the return slip next time, he immediately took a turn and said that it would be great to tell her backstory.
