Chaz Bono has revealed a shocking weight loss after admitting last year that he was trying to drop pounds but failing.
Bono, the only child of Sonny and Cher Bono, has struggled with on again off again weight loss. Last year the "Dancing With the Stars" personality admitted that he was ashamed about his weight loss plan because it was failing. After his confession, however, which came during an episode of "Doctors," Bono was able to accept help.
"That episode was the most uncomfortable I've ever been on television in my life," Bono, who weighed 250 pounds at the time, told People magazine. "I had been wanting to lose weight. It was something I had been trying to do and failing at. This opportunity just kind of came in, and my initial reaction was 'absolutely not.' And after that, the more I thought about it, I realized I've been wanting to deal with this issue and somebody's willing to help me do it, so I decided to throw my pride away and get help."
Bono has plans to return to "Doctors" on Wednesday, but this time with a different attitude. Since last November, Bono has last over 40 pounds. His previous goal was to drop 40 but since things are going so well, he has upped his goal and now hopes to lose 80 pounds instead.
"It hasn't been that long, but when you're a guy and you've got a lot of weight to lose, the initial stuff comes off pretty easily," Bono told the magazine, although he admitted that it is more difficult now than it was a few months ago to shed those extra pounds.
"I'm just kind of at a little plateau right now, which I think is pretty normal, according to my doctor," he said. "The weight was falling off at first, and now it's just coming off slower. The smaller you are, the harder it is to lose weight. The last 10 or 20 lbs. are really hard to get off."
Other stars have also been busy showing off their weight loss, including Boy George and Snooki.
