Chelsea vs Swansea City Live Stream: Watch English Premier League Soccer Online (Preview)

The defending champions host Swansea City

In a bid to defend the English Premier League title, Chelsea begin their new campaign at Stamford Bridge on Saturday as they welcome Swansea City. The match is on August 8, 2015 and will be a late afternoon start at 12:30 PM ET (5.30 PM BST).

Between the two teams, more is expected from the hosts as they attempt to recapture the league title. Last season, they were clearly the best team in England and despite lacking big-named signings, Jose Mourinho's men are hoping to continue their dominance.

There are only a few new names in Chelsea's squad this year, only with Radamel Falcao and Asmir Begovic as the established new names that were not from last year's line-up.

Falcao is on a season-long loan from AS Monaco and will hope to revive his career with Chelsea. He already has Premier League experience under him when he played for Manchester United but he failed to make any impact on the team.

Meanwhile, Eden Hazard is hoping to continue in his rise as one of the best football players in the world. Only 24 years old, Hazard showed that he was able to dominate opponents on the pitch and much of Chelsea's success will be dangling on how he performs.

On the other hand, Swansea City are hoping to continue their upward movement in the league.

Last year, they finished eighth in the EPL and were only eight points away from reaching the spots for European competition. However, often for rising teams, trying to make gains into the top six can prove extremely difficult, and oftentimes after a good season, some teams can find themselves fighting off relegation the next. Swansea's first goal will be to make sure they start picking up points early and establish themselves in the top half of the table after the first few months, and make sure they are not dragged into a relegation dogfight come December.

Jonjo Shelvey and Michu are two of the better players in the squad and much of their experience should help them in leading the Welsh outfit.

Andre Ayew and Bafetimi Gomis should lead the attacking third for Swansea City and the club will hope for a lot of goals from them.

Their two meetings last season showed how dominant Chelsea are as they won both matches 4-2 and 5-0 respectively. Expect much of the same in their first meeting this season.
