Chicago Blackhawks vs Boston Bruins takes place in the Stanley Cup Finals 2013 Game 6 on Monday night, with the Bruins on the brink having been well beaten in Game 5 in Chicago. However, now things return to Boston where they will be hoping home advantage can inspire them to another win to tie up the series at 3-3. The game is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).
Although the Bruins have their backs against the wall now, they will take comfort in the memories from the 2011 Stanley Cup Final. That year the Bruins also came home for Game 6 trailing 3-2. They were on the brink, but a deafening crowd at the TD Garden inspired them to a fantastic win, and sent them on a Game 7 match up in Vancouver. That year they went on to win the Stanley Cup 4-3, and they will take inspiration from that experience, and be hoping that they can repeat the feat of the class of 2011.
Meanwhile the Blackhawks can win the title tonight. They have two opportunities to win the Stanley Cup for the second time in four years, and will be hoping to bring the series to a conclusion tonight.
Despite the huge game tonight, a lot of the pre-game talk is about who will be available for the game, as both the Bruins and the Blackhawks are dealing with injuries to their stars.
Patrice Bergeron ended up having to go to hospital following Game 5 after suffering an injury in the second period. In addition Jonathan Toews missed the third period. However, reports indicate both will make the game tonight.
The Bruins will desperately not want to hand the title to the Blackhawks in front of their Boston home crowd, and will be fighting till the end to stop that from happening. Chicago are only 4-5 on the road in the Playoffs, but did manage to win Game 4 in Boston.
