Chicago Blackhawks vs Boston Bruins takes place in the Stanley Cup Final 2013 Game 3 on Monday night. The series is all square as things move to Boston following two opening games in Chicago. Boston have done well to bring things back to their home ice all level, and they will not be hoping to capitalize and build on their good work so far. The game is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).
In Saturday's Game 2 match up the Bruins did fantastically well to claim the win to tie up the series at 1-1. That 2-1 win will give the Bruins a lot of confidence as the series moves to Boston.
However, there is clearly not much between these two sides, and the change of venue probably will not alter that. Expect Game 3 to be tight, with a single mistake or piece of magic from someone likely to settle matters.
So far over the first two games there have been four overtimes played, and after all that things are still level with nothing to separate the teams in this year's Stanley Cup Final.
Game 1 had three overtimes to settle matters with the Blackhawks taking the spoils, where as Game 2 required just the single overtime before the Bruins claimed the win to drag themselves back into the series.
The Bruins' victory in Game 2 was even more amazing considering the poor start they had in the first period of the game in which the Blackhawks outshot the Bruins 19-4. Had it not been for Tuukka Rask the Bruins could have been dead and buried before the game had really gotten going. However, thanks to him they were just 1-0 down and not 4 or 5 down, establishing them a platform to equalize and push for the win.
Thanks to that win the Bruins now return home where they have won six straight games. Boston will be looking to continue that streak and get their noses in front in this series for the first time.
