'Chicago Fire' season 4 news, cast, spoilers: 5 things expected to happen in the new season

Season 4 of "Chicago Fire" is a month away; however, it seems that there are already a lot of things reported that can be expected from the show. With the major cliff-hangers last season, including Casey's disappearance and the dead stripper in Dawson's apartment, it seems there are more waiting for fans when the new season enters.

First would be Casey's struggle with her abduction. As followers of the show remember, Casey was kidnapped in the finale, by Nesbitt alongside his employees. Although it has already been confirmed by TVGuide that he will be found, it seems that his terrible experience won't end there. Executive producer Matt Omlstead talked more about what challenges Casey has to go through after the kidnapping. He shared to TVLine that he has to deal with "what he had to do to survive that ordeal, which would haunt a lot of people. He had to punch his way out." It is said that escape won't be easy an d he will have to go through some traumatic things which would explain why it would keep resonating in his mind even after all has passed.

As for the romance aspect of the show, two things will develop. First would be Casey and Dawson's romance. Despite Casey having to deal with what seems to be PTSD from his kidnapping, it doesn't seem like it's going to hinder much in developing a strong relationship with the pregnant Dawson. It is said that Casey will be ready to take on the fatherhood role but may have second thoughts on being with Dawson romantically.

Meanwhile, Kelly Severide seems to also have love brewing, as it is reported that Rachel Nichols' appearance this season will start off with a hot night with Severide. However, things may not go smooth immediately as trouble will follow them later on.

Aside from Nichols, there are also three other new characters set to join this season. Steve R. McQueen of "The Vampire Diaries" will be coming in to play Jimmy Borelli and Frederic Lehne will step in as deputy district Chief Ray Riddle. Brian White, who will be replacing Severide as captain Dallas Peterson, will also imply that Severide will have further management problems as he will be forced to take management training courses and programs.

Cihicago Fire season 4 will premiere on Oct. 13, 10 p.m. EST on NBC.
