Chris Brown Buys New Mansion Near Rihanna’s Home

Chris Brown's new $1.5 million dollar mansion may be more than an extravagant splurge by the R&B superstar, as he may want to be closer to ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

Radar Online is reporting that Brown snatched up a mansion in the Hollywood Hills for $1.5 million and that the mansion is just eight miles away from songstress Rihanna’s doorstep.

Fans hoping for a Chris Brown and Rihanna reunion should not get their hopes up, because the former couple will not be close for too long.

MTV reported that Rihanna recently put her “eight-bedroom Beverly Crest home on the market for $4.5 million, which, according to real estate site Blockshopper.com, is far above the average $1.35 million asking price for homes in her neighborhood.”

According to Radar, Brown's 2,472 square-foot, 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom mansion features an elevator directly to a door, glass walls, touch screen systems and a hipster pool.

“This is a much better fit for Chris. He won’t have to deal with pesky nosy neighbors or parking issues. Chris is much happier at his new house,” said a source close to the singer to Radar.

Brown has searched for a new location since the spring, when, according to Radar, residents in his West Hollywood community complained about his loud lifestyle.

Brown infamously pleaded guilty to assaulting the Barbadian star as the couple was en route to the 2009 Grammy Awards. He was later sentenced to five years of probation and community service.

Brown returned with his fourth album F.A.M.E in March 2011, which debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200 chart having sold 270,000 copies in its first week of release. It has since received gold certification by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Rihanna released her high-anticipated sixth studio album Talk that Talk on Nov. 21.
