Chris Brown was recently ordered to spend two additional months in a rehabilitation center.

Brown, the 24-year-old singer-songwriter, was ordered by a Los Angeles judge to serve additional time in the facility where he was working on his behavioral issues for three months. Still, the director of the rehabilitation program that Brown has been attending cited the singer's progress in court during a hearing Friday.

"Mr. Brown is able to use behavioral strategies to manage acting out on impulses," the director wrote in a letter to the court, according to CNN. "Mr. Brown is teaming relaxation exercises that will reduce consequent impulsive behaviors."

While the question of Brown going to jail for violating his probation still remains, the judge said the singer must be tried in Washington D.C. for an assault charge. The charge stems from the singer being accused of breaking the nose of Parker Isaac Adams, 20, who allegedly attempted to sneak into a photograph that Brown was taking with two women last year, according to E! News reports.

If the assault did indeed occur, Brown would have violated the probation that he was given after assaulting ex-girlfriend and singer Rihanna in 2009. Since that assault, Brown has made headlines for allegedly engaging in other physical altercations including those with fellow entertainers Frank Ocean and Drake.

However, Brown's current probation report says he "looks forward to staying out of trouble," according to CNN. The singer first willingly entered his three month stint in rehab last year as a means of seeking help following his arrest in Washington, D.C.

"Chris Brown has elected to enter a rehab facility," Brown's representative told E! News last year. "His goal is to gain focus and insight into his past and recent behavior, enabling him to continue the pursuit of his life and his career from a healthier vantage point."
