Chris Brown decided to dress as a Taliban fighter for Halloween, causing many to raise eyebrows and drudge up his past. The singer, however, was not alone, and posed with several other friends wearing a similar costume in a picture that he uploaded to Twitter on Wednesday night.

In the photo, Brown is wearing a long beard with a turban around his head and carrying a machine gun with a bandolier wrapped around his chest. Others are also holding guns pointed at the camera, with a caption on the photo that read: "Ain't nobody F------ wit my clique!!!!"

The photo received over 3,300 comments, creating a heated debate amongst many of the star's followers.

"He just makes one bad mistake after another. He has no moral compass what so ever," Leklie wrote on the TMZ blog.

"This is not Funny! An insult to our Military that is fighting terrorism," a second user added.

While a number of users agreed that the costume was inappropriate, thoughtless, or disrespectful, others defended the singer's right to "freedom of choice." Some also stated that people should just take his actions as a joke.

"COOL COSTUME! ALL THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS ARE COMING......I LOVE BREEZY. SO WHAT IF HE DRESSED UP LIKE THAT FOR HALLOWEEN. ITS A COSTUME PEOPLE LIGHTEN UP!" Nikki wrote.

Some fans believed that Brown was only getting criticism because of his celebrity status. Others suggested that the criticism was racially charged.

Other users questioned both Rihanna, who has admitted that she still has feelings for him, and his recent ex, Karrueche Tran .

"Ugh! This guy is just disgusting all around; there is nothing good about him. How he has two girls fighting over (and sharing him) is beyond my comprehension," another user added.
