Chris Bukowski calls it quits on "The Bachelor" franchise and here's the reason why

The disappearance of Chris Bukowski from the series "Bachelor in Paradise" was certainly not missed by fans. This then triggered the question of where he is and what might have happened after a few scenes.

Viewers of the show saw Bukwoski decide to give Joshua his date card after he turned out dateless. Apparently, his lack of presence was due to his decision to quit, not just the show but the entire "Bachelor" franchise.

According to E! News, although Bukwoski is only 28, he has appeared in five various shows of The Bachelor franchise. He then released a letter explaining his decision to leave, saying, "I became obsessed with being on TV. That might not seem normal to some, but for me — in the moment — I always convinced myself I needed to go back." He then went on to talk about how his behavior ruined his personal life, as well as his relationship with his family.

He shares, "What you saw is me at my absolute weakest moment, masking everything in my head behind ounces of alcohol. I returned to Bachelor in Paradise in hopes of finding a date to my sister's wedding. I left without a single memory of my time there. That's why I didn't watch that episode, as much as I would have liked to. I don't remember being there and I don't want to watch the version of me on TV."

Bukowski has not had that best track record on the franchise. He started off well on his debut on Emily Maynard's season of "The Bachelorette;" however, his second appearance was not received well as he turned into a villain of some sorts on "Bachelor Pad 3." It was then followed by a disastrous appearance on Andi Dorfman's season of The Bachelorette as he gatecrashed the first cocktail party and had to be escorted out by security. He then appeared in season 2 of Bachelor of Paradise.

Bukowski made the official announcement on Monday night and he then proceeded to post a picture of a jersey with the number 5 (referring to the number of seasons of the show) on his Instagram page, with the caption: "It has been a roller coaster ride.. I truly cannot express to you in words how grateful I am for the support that I have gotten tonight. We make light about a lot of things but this has seriously been a struggle for me. After today and after the support I've got from my family, friends, and the bachelor franchise is incredible. I'm extremely grateful and this jersey is incredible.. Thank you so much.#BachelorInParadise."
