A late-night live two-hour call-in counseling program recently started airing on a network of nearly 130 radio outlets owned and operated by American Family Radio, a division of the American Family Association.

The “Hope in the Night” program, produced by Hope for the Heart, the international Christian counseling ministry led by author and speaker June Hunt, aims to help people to find “biblical hope and practical help,” especially as the nation faces its worst financial crisis since the Great Depression.

"As more people tune in to ‘Hope in the Night,’ they will discover live biblical counsel couched in love and compassion,” says Hunt, CEO and CSO (Chief Servant Office) of Hope for the Heart.

"We are honored to be a partner with American Family Radio."

According to Burt Perrault, Hope for the Heart’s director of Broadcast Ministry, “Hope in the Night” will be an integral part of the AFR Talk format and will be carried on a network of powerful FM radio facilities in cities and communities representing 30 states.

"The total number of ‘Hope in the Night’ affiliates will increase from 119 outlets to 250, with minimal impact to the ministry's media budget," he reports.

Since 1986, Hope for the Heart has been running with a two-fold mission – to provide Bible-based counsel to renew minds, heal hearts and bring hope to the hurting, while empowering Christians to disciple others.

The organization broadcasts programs on more than 300 radio outlets worldwide, offers training, and provides a wealth of print, web-based, and audio tools based on a library of 100 proprietary Biblical Counseling Keys.

Aside from its “Hope in the Night” program, Hope for the Heart also produces a 25-minute, magazine-style radio program called “Hope for the Heart,” which is heard daily on approximately 120 stations across America.

Last year, Hope for the Heart was honored as the first-place recipient of the 2008 Lilly Reintegration Award in the Social Support category.

The ministry has been endorsed by a wide range of Christian leaders including Rick Warren, Richard Land, Charles Stanley, and Vonette Bright. Today, it offers hope and help through biblically-based counsel and encouragement in over 20 languages to people in 26 countries.
