Christian Girl Scouts gather Unsurpassed Coins
The Christian version of 'Girl-Scouts' goes on a mission to gather quarters as part of a record-setting national gift. The National Missionettes Ministries offer a community settting for girls aging 3-17, providing accountability in the Lord throughout their growth. On January 22, 2003, the Missionettes staff presented JoAnn Burtrin, director of Helathcare Ministries a check for $84,474.48, the largest Coins for Kids offering ever.
Butrin, overwhelmed by the generosity said, "This is the highest one-time offering we [HealthCare Ministries] have ever received."
The Missionettes, part of the Assemblies of God's children's ministries has 6 tiers of fellowship. The first level, for pre-schoolers, is the "Rainbow Club." Next, the Sonshine Club, offered to kindergarteners. For first and second grade girls, there is the Discovery Club. Third, forth, and fifth grade level girls join the Stars Club. The All About Friends Club is held for students in sixth to eigth grade, while the oldest girls join the girls only club.

Each club focuses on issues pertaining to their grade level, and provides alternative communities to maturing girls. Mentors and volunteers provide guidance to the members, teaching them about the virtues of sanctity, accountability, commitment to Christ and purity.
The 2003 coins gathered by the Missionettes Missions gift surpassed the 1997 Coins for Kids project record of $84,408.89.
