Owners of any iPhone 3GS and up, iTouch, or iPad 2 can use the new app. The Education category section within Apple's App Store hosts the app.

"In addition, the app includes a study area so you can read the Bible stories directly from YouVersion.com in the New International Version or the New Kings James Version. As a bonus, there is a link to a relevant article in Wikipedia to view classical art on the subject and read historical background information,” said website BibleDramaApp in a summary of the app's features.

"God bless you in your study of Scripture!” the website added.

The seven exercises that are offered by the app, include: God's Judgment; Rape and Incest; Gruesome Executions; Animals in the Bible; Powerful Women; Prostitutes; and, Dramatic Escapes.

A few scene descriptions from the Bible are available within the app, so parents should exercise caution when letting children operate the Christian-based app.

"We have had our apps downloaded all over the world, and even countries in which Christians are persecuted. Only a little over half of our Christian apps are downloaded in the United States. Apple's international App Store provides a way for Christians to discreetly download Biblical materials they couldn't otherwise access," said Sue Metoxen of White Buffalo Solutions, a company known for developing apps for Christian meditation and education.

"My first app was The Five-Minute Christian Meditation. I had noticed there were lots of apps for meditation but very few for Christian meditation. Christians are a little afraid of meditation because of its association with Hindu and Buddhist religions. However, meditation has proven medical benefits and was definitely part of the practice of early Christians and Jesus Christ."

Metoxen also spoke on the availability of the app: "My new app, The Bible Drama Exercises, will provide Bible students with a fun way to study the Bible. The app is FREE until after the Thanksgiving weekend. After that is will be only $0.99. I want to keep the prices low on my apps to make the accessible to more people."

White Buffalo Solutions also offers several other apps for Apple mobile device users. Those apps include Christian Meditation, the Five-Minute Christian Meditation, Minneapolis Lakes, and the Christian Mathematician.
