Christian Music Star Jeremy Camp Shares 'Sad News' with Fans

Popular Christian music artist Jeremy Camp and his wife had some "sad news" to share with fans and supporters Friday.

"As some of you may know from my twitter it was our baby check up yesterday," reported Camp's wife, Adrienne, who said earlier this month that she was three months pregnant.

"I went in and they could not find the baby's heart beat," she continued.

"This is could be normal at my stage, but they sent me to have an ultrasound, from which we learned that our precious little one's heart had stopped a week earlier and has gone to be with Jesus," Adrienne wrote in a blog entry titled "Joy in God's presence."

The Camps, who have been married since 2003, have two daughters - 4-year-old Isabella Rose Camp and 3-year-old Arianne Mae Camp. Isabella will turn 5 next month.

Though the Camps admitted that the loss of the child they were expecting was hard for them, they testified to how God has "overwhelmed" them with His love and peace.

"We know He is faithful and don't doubt for a minute that He is in control," they affirmed. "We are so thankful for the hope we have in Christ."

Still, the couple asked friends and supporters to pray for them, particularly for Adrienne's body to heal quickly.

"We'd appreciate your prayers. Love you all," Camp wrote in his Twitter account Friday.

Camp, who has released six albums and 17 No. 1 hit songs in the past eight years, is scheduled to kick off a 30+ city tour next month with Christian music stars Natalie Grant and Bebo Norman.

Since the unexpected death of his first wife in 2001, the 31-year-old artist has won five Dove Awards and three ASCAP Songwriter of the Year Awards, among other accolades.

Earlier this year, Camp also snagged the title of "Best Male Artist" for the fifth consecutive year in Christianity Today magazine's sixth annual voter-driven music awards.

His wife, Adrienne, is the former frontwoman for the South African Christian band The Benjamin Gate.
