Hosanna Broadcasting Network (HBN), a 24-hour Christian radio station, celebrated its 10th month in operation this week as a testament to the grace that God has poured down on their ministry.

"God in His glorious way, in His own time, against all odds has allowed us to launch our program," said Tersit Asrat, founder and president of HBN in a statement.

First launched in June 2007, HBN works to spread the Gospel through its 24-hour radio broadcasts to the narrow, under reached and heavily Muslim “10/40 window.”

For those living in the “10/40” window, which contains two-thirds of the world’s population, HBN is often their sole source for guidance and knowledge about the eternal life and freedom that exists in Christ.

"This is a special door that the Lord has opened to the Church to enable us to effectively fulfill the commission of our Lord to take the gospel to the ends of the earth, and the mandate of Jesus Christ to feed the hungry, and to take care of the poor, orphaned children and widows," Asrat said, elaborating on the important task that God has commissioned the ministry.

HBN said since their station’s launch, they had received numerous letters of encouragement and feedback back from listeners who have turned to Christ through their programs.

The staff, while emphasizing that their growth and progress was through the grace of the Lord, added they had hopes to begin expanding their programs throughout more and more areas.

HBN makes use of a special high powered satellite driven radio system to deliver “The Voice of Jesus Christ” to the world.

The idea to start HBN first came to Asrat in a vision over seven years ago.
