Christina Aguilera Adam Levine Feud Denied: 'We're Both Very Passionate'

Christina Aguilera addressed the onscreen tension between herself and fellow "The Voice" mentor Adam Levine.

In their mission to coach the leading contestant on the reality series, Aguilera and Levine's turbulent relationship has seen many arguments on-air.

However, their interaction on the show is only the result of the singers' similar personalities, according to Aguilera.

"We're both very passionate, but it isn't personal with Adam," she told Fox News. "We're just very strong personalities."

Aguilera also noted her newfound outlook on life and credited charity work for her positive attitude. The "Beautiful" singer just returned to "The Voice" after a hiatus, during which she and her son Max spent in Rwanda working with the United Nations.

"The time off made me see more than ever that [the competition] isn't about it," she said. "It's about the contestants."

Further explaining her newfound contentment, Aguilera penned an open letter to her fans last month, thanking them for their support.

"I am so grateful and fortunate for your dedication," penned the singer. "Your time & devotion. Your kindness and understanding. Your patience and compassion. I continue to work, create and deliver my best to you."

Aguilera went on to express her newfound contentment in the long letter that included over 2,000 words.

"I am so happy and at peace and I only want and wish you all to feel the same and live that way too," she wrote.

"Recent and new creativity has been freshly infused and inspired in me, and I can't wait to share with you all of my discoveries," the mentor on "The Voice" noted. "I'm writing a lot these days. Inspired thoughts overflowing first thing in the morning, onset at the Voice, and on into Pen & paper always at my side. Life an old best friend- eager and ready to take it all in."

Aguilera reiterated that she is "enjoying life now more than ever before" and imparted advice to not only her fans but to aspiring artists.

"Be patient. And good to yourself," she wrote. "Appreciate the courage it takes to give yourself and put yourself out there in the forefront."

Meanwhile, "The Voice" season premiere airs on Monday, Sept. 23 at 8 p.m. EST. Blake Shelton is also returning as a mentor.
