An official from the South African Council of Churches (SACC) has been denied entry into Zimbabwe to observe the upcoming elections because his name was not on the accredited list of election observers, say government officials.

An official from the South African Council of Churches (SACC) has been denied entry into Zimbabwe to observe the upcoming elections because his name was not on the accredited list of election observers, government officials said Tuesday.

SACC general secretary, Molefe Tsele, was stopped at the Beitbridge border post in southern Zimbabwe, according to the Daily News in Harare.

The SACC says that it had been invited by the Zimbabwe Council of Churches (ZCC) as a part of an ecumenical delegation to observe the Thursday
