ROAR, one of the top phone application development firms for churches, is now releasing their own application building CMS to help churches and nonprofits afford their own iPhone and Android apps at an affordable cost.
"Our goal is to enable each nonprofit and church we work with to reach into the community and into the pocket of every person to encourage, connect, and retain them as a customer and participant," Matt McKee, president of ROAR, said in Monday’s press release.
"With our new software, building a custom-looking mobile app for any organization is an affordable reality," McKee added.
Through January 31, ROAR will provide churches and non profits with half off the $250 set up fee for the iOS app (iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch) or $500 for both iOS and Android apps, according to PR Newswire. For only $125, churches and nonprofits can start developing their own phone app.
“I started ROAR two years ago with this is mind. I was a pastor for 10 years. The message of the gospel needs to be in our hands with a device we use all the time,” McKee told The Christian Post.
Mckee told CP his purpose is to give and help churches spread the word using the latest in technology.
“Non profits are the heart of a community. They focus on people, but sometimes have a hard time including technology,” McKee added to CP.
Typically, only the biggest churches and nonprofits could afford the $30,000 cost of hiring a firm to build them a custom mobile phone application.
"A nonprofit mobile app can help organizations of all kinds communicate with their volunteers and increase donations. A church mobile app can connect members to their churches through sermon podcasts, event updates, and social media all in one place -- their phones," McKee added in the press release. "We encourage churches and nonprofits to give away their apps for free as a way to establish loyalty and goodwill."
