'Clash of Clans' Update: Stats Displayed in Beta API

"Clash of Clans" (CoC) fans will now find it easier to see stats because Supercell just revealed a new beta API along with a new update.

The new "Clash of Clans" beta API will give players access to a full clan search with badge images and lists of members. Developer Supercell's newly released update for CoC also includes a fleshed out league list that has location-based rankings, according to Design & Trend.

An API functions like a widget that feeds live data about a certain service while the information is being gathered. Basically, developers can implement an API in their own websites.

The release of the beta API, including its details, was announced through a thread on the "Clash of Clans" forums, the report adds.

The new update will help players manage their own clans more conveniently. Before, players had to manually map out ranks and statistics, but the new API now gives them the details they need on dedicated clan websites, the report explains.

Based on a forum modulator's explanation, the API can "update clan rosters live including current badge, trophy counts, and more." This way, players do not have to manually maintain the roster of their clan website because they can use Supercell servers for the live updates, the report details.

The biggest advantage that it gives players is the ability to immediately see the performance of top clans, the report relays.

A player needs to register for a "Clash of Clans" developer account first before they can use the beta API. After registering and having their email address verified, Supercell will give them an API key tied to their specific IP addresses, iDigital Times reports.

As of now, the "Clash of Clans" beta API provides limited details, but additional information and more access are expected to be available in the coming months.
