Cleveland Cavaliers Trade Rumors: Cavs Interested In Hawks' Kyle Korver

The Cleveland Cavaliers are reportedly eager to sign Kyle Korver from the Atlanta Hawks.

The 34-year-old small forward/shooting guard joins the list of the Hawks' potential releases for the year, which includes big man Al Horford and point guard Jeff Teague.

ESPN Cleveland first released the report through a tweet.

"Windhorst: I have heard the #Cavs have had interest in Kyle Korver as well. Hawks could be selling off pieces," the tweet reads.

In another report by Bryan Kalbrosky for FOX Sports, Cleveland's team management has yet to decide what they could offer for Korver, but also noted that Atlanta would "require value back," as they would be releasing one of their marquee players.

For his part, Korver says that while there are a lot of things going on within the team, his performances this season compared to the last one are completely different.

"We talk to each other as teammates and keep a lot of stuff in the locker room but I think for the most part we have to understand that last year is last year and this year is this year. We haven't really achieved anything in the grand scheme of things," Korver said.

Kalbrosky's report noted the dip in Korver's performance this season, compared to the last. For the 2014-2015 season, Korver made an NBA All-Star appearance and held the best three-point percentage in the entire Eastern Conference with 49.2%.

This season, however, his three-point percentage has gone down to 38.7%.

Korver was a second round draft pick (51st overall) by the New Jersey Nets in 2003 but was immediately traded to the Philadelphia 76ers, where he played for four seasons. He has jumped around two more teams after: the Utah Jazz and the Chicago Bulls, before signing with the Atlanta Hawks in 2012.

For the current season, he has played in 53 games, so far, and is averaging 9.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 0.9 steals, through 30.1 minutes of playing time per game.
