Cleveland Cavaliers Wine and Gold Scrimmage With 17,000 Fans

A lot has been going on with the NBA League now that the training camps for the teams have started, and news are abuzz on the Internet. Just this Wednesday, the Cleveland Cavaliers held their annual season opening event, the Wine and Gold Scrimmage at the Quicken Loans Arena.

It was a successful event for the team, with the unveiling of the new looks of the jerseys as well as introducing the Cavalier's big three – LeBron James, Kevin Love, and Kyrie Irving.

"It was a great reaction. The fans are great, they've always been great," James said.

The game had been a showcase of the talents of both the veterans and the rookies, with James leading the team. He was quite vocal during the game and led the team quite well despite an exciting but distracting crowd.

"It's just part of my leadership – make sure guys are in-tuned with what's going on. We just want to continue to get better every single day and not waste the opportunity. Tonight was an opportunity to get better and we didn't waste it," James explained.

With the opening event, the Cavaliers made a great opening statement and showed the league why they have some of the best fans. Some 16,723 fans were present in the arena for the scrimmage and Coach David Blatt expects roughly the same number when his team plays for real this Sunday.

"I'm sure that once again we will have a crowd like we did tonight. And let's be honest, isn't that amazing that we just had 17,000 people at a scrimmage?" Blatt said.
