Clint Eastwood, Dina Ruiz Separate After 17 Years

Clint Eastwood and wife Dina Ruiz have separated after 17 years of marriage. Dina was the one to break the news and said that they have actually been living separately for quite a while.

"Clint fell out of love with Dina a long time ago," a friend revealed to Us Weekly.

Ruiz confirmed the news but did not give an explanation as to why the relationship ended. She married Eastwood, who is 83, in 1996, and they have one daughter together. He had previously been married to Maggie Johnson; they have one daughter and one son, though Eastwood is a father of seven, thanks to other relationships.

In 2007, Ruiz gave an interview to Caramel magazine in which she spoke about her life with Eastwood.

"Being married to Clint is almost a full-time job, just trying to keep up with him. I also try to be a very present mother. He's the least pretentious person I've ever met, and I love that he's so conscientious about nature and letting things remain as they are," she explained.

Eastwood later joined in the interview and said that he loved Ruiz's "big does eyes. She's a very forthright kind of person. It's one of those things you can't put your finger on because it's pheromones or something. So we got married, and we had a child, and we're still together. Eleven years."

The two met in 1993, when Ruiz, then a 27-year-old TV journalist, interviewed Eastwood, who was 62 at the time. Eastwood joked that Ruiz's associates said that they would soon be married, but the joke was on him since they married just three years later.

"Finally I've found someone who has allowed me to feel totally at ease," Eastwood told Hello! Magazine. "It's simply that nice feeling you get when you're sitting on your sofa, having a drink, and you look around and see your wife and daughter – you know this is as good as life can be. I have waited a long, long time to experience that."
