CM Punk, AJ Lee Updates: Wrestler to Return to WWE? AJ Lee and Paige Battle for Divas Championship Belt

With CM Punk, whose real name is Phillip Brooks, has been avoiding Twitter for over a week now. There has been an ongoing rumor circulating that Brooks might be returning to the WWE after walking out of the franchise earlier this year, according to reports.

A report from VC Post pointed out that this could be part of a promotional campaign for Sting's (Steve Borden) return to the WWE. Speculations from the fans suggested that Brooks could take the part of a "party crasher" on the debut episode.

However, the possibility of a Sting vs. CM Punk match would be unlikely as the former has already been reported to have many disagreements with WWE chairman Vince McMahon.

In a report by Pro Wrestling Torch, they cited Punk not appearing on a January Monday Night Raw as well as on the SmackDown Tuesday taping, which he was advertised as participant for the events.

With his contract already expired in July, Punk thanked his fans without mentioning WWE. The wrestling entertainment firm meanwhile remove Brooks' name from the active roster without releasing a statement.
On the other hand, AJ Lee's battle for the WWE Divas Championship belt with Paige "has felt more like pat-a-cake than war," as Bleacher Report put it.

"A lack of violence and rage is hurting the feud. Monday's Raw was a prime example of how tame things have been between them. During their tag match, they antagonized each other but only playfully," the site reported.

They further speculated that maybe WWE wants to tread in a different storyline for the two divas, that to include more sexual tension.

"It doesn't make the audience want to see them fight. It does little to get one pumped for Night of Champions or future bouts," publication's Ryan Dilbert wrote. "For WWE to make the most of two of its most talented female wrestlers, it needs to turn up the dial on the intensity. Skipping, smiling and kisses aren't going to cut it."
