CM Punk WWE News: Wrestler Claims That WWE Fired Him on His Wedding Day

After the epic showdown between Team Authority and Team Cena in WWE's Survivor Series last week, a few wrestling stars who haven't been seen in a while came back to celebrate Team Cena's win. There was Daniel Bryan, who made his triumphant return as the manager of Raw for one night. And then there was Sgt. Slaughter, who tried to get Lana and Rusev to say the Pledge of Allegiance with him.

But one star who won't be coming back anytime soon to WWE is CM Punk. On Nov. 27, the former wrestler told Colt Cabana on his "Art of Wrestling" podcast that he had been cleared to fight without seeing the doctors first, and that he was fired from the WWE on his wedding day.

CM Punk, whose real name is Phil Brooks, revealed to Cabana that the wrestling organization didn't give a serious thought to his injuries and allowed him to compete without seeing a doctor first.

"I remember when I was supposed to be in Birmingham and get cleared before I came to wrestle from my elbow." he said. Brooks revealed that he didn't think that he would actually be sent back to wrestle.

He recalled that one of the doctors spoke to another doctor and cleared him without taking a look at his injury. He also said that one of his fellow wrestlers, Ryback, kicked him so hard in the stomach and it broke his ribs, but he received no apology from him.

"WWE doesn't do anything to protect its wrestlers, they do things to protect themselves," Brooks explained. The former wrestler also said he was fired on his wedding day. On the day of his wedding, he received a FedEx with termination papers inside. Brooks had married WWE Diva AJ Lee.

In response to the allegations, the WWE released a statement.

"WWE takes the health and wellness of its talent very seriously and a comprehensive Talent Wellness Program that is led by one of the most well-respected physicians in the country, Dr. Joseph Maroon," the company said.

Ryback took to Twitter to respond to Brooks' allegations well.

"For the record if I quit for being fragile and insecure I would make up excuses too. Things didn't go my way for a long time and I kept going day in and day out. Slander is a powerful thing and to state complete made up nonsense for no reasons shows his insecurities. I will continue to bust my [expletive] study matches every chance I get, cut promos when driving and push myself on hours even when hurt. Thank you," he wrote.

Since the podcast aired, it has been reported that Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are furious at Brooks and are also very unhappy with Cabana.

Of the now famous podcast, Cabana recently tweeted to Brooks, "I think we broke the Internet."
