Condoleezza Rice Hits Spectator on Head; Golf Ball Causes Bloody Gash

Former U.S. Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, has hit a spectator on the head with a golf ball as she was playing a round at the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am this week. Rice was on the sixth hole of the course, which is located on a steep hill, and was attempting to hit a shot of about 100 feet. However, she got things seriously wrong.

Her ball instead went flying about 50 feet off course and hit a spectator directly on the head, causing the female golf fan a gash to the forehead where the ball hit.

Rice and her colleagues went rushing over where Rice was heard saying with concern: "Did I hit you?"

As Rice tried to help the woman and see if she was ok, reports suggest that the woman had a bloody gash just above the bridge of her nose with blood running down her face.

"It was a bad shot. I'm really sorry," Rice added.

Rice then managed to grab a towel and handed it to the woman's daughter to help wipe away some of the blood. The former United States Secretary of State also held the spectator's hand until first aid workers arrived on the scene.

Rice's assistant also handed the spectator her contact details so that they could later be informed of any updates in her condition, and also receive further apology.

The former Secretary of State was playing a pairs game with Jason Bohn. The pairing went on in their game to do respectably well; completing the course with a two under-par score in a round of 70 on the par-72 course, in the Pro-Am tournament.
