'Constantine' News: Episode 7 'Blessed Are the Damned' Recap, Episode 8 Plot
Last Friday's episode of "Constantine" sees John and Zed heading off to Kentucky and they have an encounter with a preacher who has the ability to heal the sick.
In Briarwood revival church in Kentucky, siblings Zach and Sarah are running a snake-handling ministry. Zach, while in the middle of a sermon, gets bitten by a snake and dies, but after a few minutes, he miraculously comes back to life. He is holding a large, glowing feather and he pockets it. Zach now has the power to heal, and he heals an amputee named Nate, who regrows his leg in front of the parishioners.
Meanwhile, Zed is in art class and she has a vision of snakes at her feet. John has heard of the miracles in Kentucky, so the two travel there to have a look. At the sermon, Zach heals several people, then kneels and speaks in Enochian, the language of angels. This troubles John. Then, Zach lays his hands on Zed, and she thinks that he's a good person. John refuses to be touched and asks Zach where he learned Enochian, and he says he does not know.

John asks for help from Manny, but the angel offers no help. Later, Zed and John discover an angel, Imogen, who is partially buried in leaves. The two take her to an empty barn, and John casts a protection spell to keep evil forces out. Imogen says that she was taking a soul to heaven when he pulled out one of her feathers. Manny shows up and says that a mortal has never done this before, but when an angel's feather is pulled out, this will kill the angel.
Meanwhile, Nate is feeling peculiar. He turns feral, then kills his doctor and a policeman. John explains that he calls these people infected with the angel spirit ghouls, and that those who Zach healed will soon turn into ghouls too.
Later, John tries to take the feather from Zach, but he is hurled away by a blast of light. Zed agrees to be baptized, and while Zach is dunking her she grabs the feather from him. Then the ghouls rush at them, and the three barricade themselves at the church. Zach tells them that he has killed a human in a hit and run accident, and with a mortal sin on him, John learns that Imogen is a fallen angel and was about to take Zach to hell.
But Zed has delivered the feather to Imogen and the angel's wings and gown turns black. Imogen grabs Zed as a hostage, and Manny reappears as Zed, rips out Imogen's heart, then disappears. The real Zed is left holding the heart.

"A call from Anne Marie, a member of the fateful Newcastle crew, sends John and Chas to Mexico City and brings them closer to the source of The Rising Darkness. Meanwhile, Zed's past comes to haunt her."
