Cops have been caught egging a house in a small Massachusetts town, according to new reports out this week, sparking outrage at their inappropriate behavior.

The incident saw a number of off-duty police officers caught as they gathered outside a superior officer's home with dozens of eggs. They then proceeded to "egg" the house.

The three off duty cops were caught at about 2 a.m. local time on Dec. 11, after Framingham police officers were alerted to respond to a report of male "teenagers" throwing eggs at the policeman's residence on Griffin Road, according to the MetroWest Daily News.

Police were told that two of the culprits had fled the scene of the egging and driven off in a red car.

Local police responding to the complaint managed to find the red car, and although they expected for find some unruly male teenagers in the vehicle, they were left stunned when they found that the eggers were off-duty police officers from the nearby Newton, Massachusetts, police department.

According to Lt. Ron Brandolini, a Framingham police spokesman, the car was pulled over at about 2 a.m. on the night of the incident after responding to an emergency call from two Newton police officers living in the area.

After being pulled over the driving off-duty cop admitted that they had just egged the house, but said, "It was a prank, a joke between friends," Lt. Ron Brandolini has reported, according to the MetroWest Daily News.

Two of the eggers were apprehended in the red vehicle, and a third off-duty officer was also found when police returned to the residence that had come under attack from the eggs. The third person also quickly admitted to being involved in the incident.

After finding out that the three eggers who attacked the house were fellow officers he knew, the homeowner insisted to Framingham police that the trio would be dealt with and punished internally. No charges were filed against the Newton off duty officers, and none have been publicly identified.
