A Corona high school teacher has been accused and arrested after allegations that she had sexual relations with a number of underage male students on the college campus.
Thirty-one year old Summer Michelle Hansen, a special education instructor at Centennial High School, was arrested on Thursday. She is accused of statutory rape, oral copulation of a minor and other sex-related allegations. The accusations cover alleged offenses against a number of teenagers at the school.
Authorities received reports on Tuesday that the teacher had had sexual relations with a former student.
After initial investigations it appears as though detectives have uncovered a number of other victims under the age of 18 who have had sexual relations with Hansen.
Education officials from the School District have confirmed that Hansen was put on leave, and that she had been teaching an ungraded life skills class.
However, it was highlighted that none of the students involved in the allegations were part of those classes.
Not ruling out further victims coming forward, authorities have asked that parents at the school speak with their children and find out if they had had any contact with Hansen.
Speaking to KCAL9, Shanda Barnett, whose 15 year old son attends the school, said, "They're supposed to be role models. They're supposed to be showing our kids how to live life properly."
Barnett added, "I just think it's really sad for this day and time that these professionals are doing what they're doing to our children."
