Costa Rica's players celebrate a goal against Panama during their 2014 World Cup qualifying soccer match at the National Stadium in San Jose June 18, 2013.

Belize were up against one of the tournament favorites in their opening game in the United States, and the big gap in class was apparent in the 6-1 defeat for tiny Belize.

Things do not get that much easier today though as they come up against a very capable Costa Rica team who are unlikely to be in any mood to take it easy against the big underdogs.

Belize may be hoping to claim a shock draw, which would be a massive result and would open the door to them trying to claim one of the two third place qualifying spots open in this year's CONCACAF Gold Cup.

In their final Group C game Belize will be playing Cuba and that will be the game they will be going all out for to claim a win in this year's tournament.

Meanwhile, Costa Rica claimed a good win against Cuba in their first game, winning 3-0. They will hope to claim another confident win today to build on their good work so far and build confidence ahead of their final group game against the United States.

The United States are ahead on goal difference at the top of Group C right now, and this match against Belize will be important for Costa Rica to try and claim back some of that difference.

Whoever has the better goal difference after this second round of games between the United States and Costa Rica will have the upper hand in their final game, as they will know a draw would still see them finish top of the table and claim a potentially easier route through the knock out stages.
