CP World Report: Santorum, Iranian Pastor, Franklin Graham, Angry Birds

In the Republican Presidential debate last night, rivals heaped criticism on surprise front-runner Rick Santorum , hoping to stall his surge at a pivotal point in the campaign. Mitt Romney went after his chief rival early and often, repeatedly questioning Santorum on his fiscal and social conservative credentials, while criticizing his time in the U.S. Congress. The former senator from Pennsylvania went on the defensive for his support for "the No Child Left Behind education reform package."

At least 40 people have been killed and 550 injured in a train crash in Argentina. The train plowed into a platform at a Buenos Aires station. Authorities believe there was a brake problem.

Bill C-30—dubbed the "snoop bill"-- continues to cause an uproar of controversy in Canada. Franklin Graham survived a grilling by CNN's Kyra Phillips about comments he made on MSNBC about President Obama's faith. Amid accusations that Graham said Obama was not a Christian and that Graham was quote "like a Republican in preachers clothing", Graham held his own and repeated that he had no comment about Obama's faith; that in fact Obama is a nice man, but….that his view on abortion, is morally wrong . Graham reiterated the Christian position that life from womb to grave is sacred. He issued an apology to those who misunderstood him….

Two Western Journalists were killed in the besieged city of Homs when government rocketfire struck a house they were staying in. American correspondent Marie Colvin was among them. Two other journalists were injured.

News of concern has emerged in a press release about Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani. He has been long held in a jail in Iran on apostasy charges . The American center for Law and Justice said that it had concerns of whether Youcef was still alive. The center says Iran may have quietly executed him as all eyes have been focused on Iran's nuclear program.

This was the scene in the Afghan capital of Kabul as protests throughout the country turned deadly over the mistaken burning of Qurans by American troops. 5 people were killed and ten wounded while the U-S Embassy in Kabul went into lockdown. The commander of NATO's International Security Assistance Force apologized for the burning incident . Officials have also ordered all coalition forces in Afghanistan to undergo special training to learn how to handle the Koran correctly.

And back in the states, the Obama administration is taking quick action against the burning of the Koran. Both the commander of the International Security Assistance Force and Defense Secretary Leon Panetta have issued public statements of apology to the Afghan people and expressed disapproval.
