This week’s “Dancing with the Stars” elimination has shocked the audience as Kristin Cavallari and her professional dance partner Mark Ballas were voted off the show.

“I’m a little surprised, to be honest,” the reality television star admitted. “I’ve had such a great time and I’ve had an awesome experience so it is what it is.”

The elimination came as a surprise to everyone because the weakest contestants remain safe on the show. Cavallari and Ballas delivered steady performances, earning scores of 19, 22, and 24 out of 30 points for their three acts, while other stars show little improvement in dancing.

“DWTS” Judge Len Goodman also expressed his surprise over the elimination, saying, “This is truly crazy.” Goodman added that it was “madness” to see Cavallari and contestant Hope Solo as the bottom two on Tuesday, and that he had expected the two to “be fighting for the final.”

Cavallari took to Twitter to thank her fans and express her feelings after the show. Writing on her account, the 24-year-old said, “So sad to be leaving but thanks to everyone who voted. I had the best time!!!”

In response to fellow competitor Ricki Lake, Cavallari tweeted, “Ill miss you! Ill be rooting for u RT: @RickiLake: I had fun learning to dance w/ @KristinCav. Gonna miss u.”

Another star-turned-dancer on this season’s show, David Arquette, expressed surprise and condolences over the elimination.

“@KristinCav @MarkBallas you guys were robbed,” wrote Arquette. “You danced better than me last night. I love you both.”

Concluding her feelings about the elimination, Cavallari wrote, “I honestly love you guys. I’ve been reading ur tweets and it means the world to me. I’m so freakin sad! But I had the best experience.”

“I may not be on the show but I’m still dancing,” Cavallari added.

Chaz Bono and his dancing partner Lacey Schwimmer earned a low score of 18 points for their performance Monday, yet the couple remains in the running for the mirror ball trophy.

The fourth performances of the nine remaining couples on “Dancing with the Stars” will air Monday on ABC at 8 p.m. EST.
