Dancing With the Stars 2014 Season 18 Results: Elimination Show Sees Danica McKellar Exit in Week 8

"Dancing with the Stars" returned to ABC on Monday with just six remaining couples for Celebrity Dance Duels night.

Last week on "DWTS," Nene Leakes and Tony Dovolani were voted off the television series after a dismal Argentine tango. However, this week, fan favorites such as Amy Purdy and her partner Derek Hough returned to the ballroom for Week 8. Despite their valiant efforts during rehearsals, Danica McKellar and Val Chmerkovskiy and her were eliminated during Monday's show.

Now, the remaining contestants on "DWTS" season 18 include Purdy and Hough; James Maslow and Peta Murgatroyd; Charlie White and Sharna Burgess; Candace Cameron-Bure and Mark Ballas; and lastly, Meryl Davis and Maks Chmerkovskiy.

Meanwhile, Purdy's return to the dance floor was threatened by a serious health issue last week. The Paralympic snowboarder informed fans that she was sent into fits of pain in her back following "Latin Night," requiring her to visit the emergency room.

"So, looks like I have a rib out of place and my muscles are in spasm," the 34-year-old athlete posted to Twitter on April 29. "I am being proactive in healing up so I can continue this journey."

Furthermore, Purdy said she was "icing all day, taking anti-inflammatories and working with a sports doctor to try to heal quickly so I can learn this week's dances" ahead of Monday's show. The athlete was not the only contestant on the mend, though. Danica McKellar also returned to the dance floor on Monday after sustaining injuries from the week prior.

"So… I broke a rib in yesterday's #DWTS rehearsal," the "Boy Meets World" actress wrote on Twitter on April 25. "Trying my best to pull thru and could use your prayers!! #wanttokeepdancing"

"DWTS" airs Mondays on ABC at 8 p.m. EST. For the first time in the television series' history, the competition features a new twist called "the switch-up" where viewers can vote to change the celebrities and the professional dancer pairings.

Monday's show also featured "Dance Moms" famous dance instructor Abby Lee Miller guest judge alongside Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman, and Bruno Tonioli.
