'Daredevil' Season 2 Trailer Hints at the Punisher's Debut

A teaser for "Daredevil" season 2 has finally been released and the short clip hints that The Punisher could be featured in the next installment of the Netflix series.

Over the weekend, a short teaser clip for "Daredevil" season 2 was posted on the series' official Twitter account. The video shows a costumed vigilante and The Punisher's voice at the end, according to BGR.

It is worth noting that the teaser bears a Chinese New Year theme, because the date it was released coincides with the actual occasion on Feb. 8. It remains to be seen if the theme will have anything to do with the actual plot of the story, the report relays.

What is known is that The Punisher is the one heard saying "bang" at the end of the teaser. This may indicate that the character will play a major role in the upcoming installment. The video also bears a statement about paying all debts, the report details.

"The time has come to settle all debts," the teaser says.

Earlier this month, Jon Bernthal said his character The Punisher will be an antagonist but will not yet be a villain. Aside from The Punisher, Elektra will also enter the scene to force Matt Murdock (Daredevil) to doubt himself, IGN reveals.

The second season will pick up some time after what happened in the finale of season 1. During the latest Television Critics Association press tour, Charlie Cox said his character, the Daredevil, will have a smooth time watching over his town. At that time, the crime rate has dropped because Wilson Fisk is behind bars, the report relays.

As of now, the other details on "Daredevil" season 2 are still unavailable, because Marvel and Netflix are keeping things under wraps. More information is expected to be released by next month.

"Daredevil" season 2 will be available for streaming on Netflix starting Mar. 18.
