'Dark Lord' Arrested for Allegedly Burning and Urinating on Bible; Said He Was 'Cursing the Christians'
A 22-year-old man calling himself the "Dark Lord" was arrested in Prescott, Arizona after he reportedly set fire to a Bible on the steps of a rescue mission then urinated on it in an attempt to "curse Christians".
A release from the Prescott Police Department cited by azcentral said the man, Eric Minerault of Prescott, was witnessed by an employee of the Gospel Rescue Mission on Lincoln Street burning something on the steps of the building and the police were called in to investigate at about 9 p.m. last Thursday.
Minerault was discovered dressed in black and wearing a long, black-and-red robe with a pentagram necklace, according to the report. A wet Bible that appeared to have been burnt was also found near him.
Police say he confessed to burning the Bible and targeted the mission because he believed it to be a place of Christian worship and was "cursing the Christians".
When asked why he did it he allegedly told police that he did it because he is the "Dark Lord."
He was arrested and taken to the Yavapai County Detention Center where he was booked for unlawful symbol burning.
According to his YouTube profile, Minerault writes and performs death metal music. In 2012, he was seeking to join a death metal band in Prescott.
