'Dark Souls 3' News: New Cinematic Trailer Reveals New 'Bosses,' Story Details

Fans of the action role-playing video game series "Dark Souls" are getting extra excited about the release of "Dark Souls 3," which is the fourth entry in the series, especially since its worldwide release is only two months away. Now, the upcoming game has gotten a new cinematic trailer which not only introduces the game's new bosses, but it also gives players some hints about the game's story.

According to a report in Tech Times, the game's cinematic trailer goes beyond what is already known about the game so far, which is essentially that players will be playing as "the Unkindled." The trailer is described by the report as still vague in details but it tries to break it down further to point out some story details in it.

Loyal fans of the game series will recognize some of names mentioned in the trailer such as the Abyss and the armies of the Undead, which the report speculated is a storyline that follows that of the earlier game "Dark Souls." One of the bosses showcased in the trailer include a Giant King who appears be on fire. This, on the other hand, is related to the story of "Dark Souls 2," the report said.

According to another report in Eurogamer, the trailer specifically showed the following bosses which are set to appear in the game: Aldrich, Saint of the Deep; the Undead Legion of Farron; the Abyss Watchers; and Yhorm the Giant, the lord of the capitol. The trailer also hints at what is probably the game's setting which is the land of Lothric, where the "Lords of Cinder converge."

In terms of gameplay, the game is said to follow that of "Dark Souls 2" where players make use of weapons such as shortbows, explosives and swords to ward off and defeat their enemies. Shields are also useful in defending against attacks and damage.

The western world will get their hands on "Dark Souls 3" on April 12, for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Japanese gamers will get it a few weeks earlier on March 24.
