David Arquette on Son: 'It's New, Beautiful'

David Arquette opened up about the son he is expecting with girlfriend Christina McLarty this week.

News of the child arose last month, and Arquette's ex-wife Courteney Cox recently revealed the baby's gender on "Ellen DeGeneres."

However, Arquette remained quiet about the news until a gala in Los Angeles on Saturday, according to Us Weekly.

"I've done it once," he said, referring his daughter, Coco, who he shares with his ex-wife, Cox. "It's all new, but it's beautiful."

This time, with a son, Arquette said he will be "playing catch, making him laugh, and seeing my girlfriend Christina being a mother for the first time and all the joy and love that it's going to bring her and me."

The 42-year-old actor discussed possible name choices for his son during a different interview on Saturday.

"I've been a bit cryptic about it," Arquette told E! News.

"It's going to be the name my grandfather used to play," the actor added. "He was Cliff Arquette, but that's not the name we are thinking of."

However, the name will not be "too quirky," Arquette said in a different interview on Saturday.

"I think we will go with something a little more traditional," he clarified.

Meanwhile, Cox explained that her daughter Coco is thrilled about becoming a big sister to Arquette and McLarty's child.

"She's really excited," the "Friends" star told Ellen DeGeneres. "At first she was nervous, because, you know, it's a big deal. At first, I was nervous, I was like whoah, heavy. Now it's great and we actually all had dinner the other night, the whole family."

Cox and Arquette finalized their divorce as well.

"It's a very unique relationship," 49-year-old Cox concluded. "All of us like literally, me and Christina and David and Coco. It's great though."
