David Beckham News: Football Superstar Inches His Way To Being A Major League Soccer Owner

David Beckham inches closer to his dream of owning a Major League Soccer as his organization procured six acres of land that will be used as a stadium site.

"The acquisitions open the door to MBU's purchase of adjacent land required for development, now controlled by Miami-Dade County, at fair market value," says a statement released by Miami Beckham United (MBU), the ownership group comprised of Beckham, Simon Fuller, Marcelo Claure, and Tim Leiweke.

Fuller is Beckham's agent while Claure and Leiweke are businessmen.

Claure, who is also the chief executive officer of the telecommunications group Sprint said that the purchase of the land where their planned stadium will rise is an exciting progress in their dream of having their own soccer club that will surely bring pride and honor to Miami.

Apart from expressing excitement over the purchase that brings them closer to their dream, Claure also takes pride in their location, thanks to the site's proximity to downtown Miami and the Miami Beach area and its accessibility. Once everything about the purchase is cut and dried, the entitlement process will be formalized, and MBU hopes to get the nod of the City and Country's approval for the site's development plans.

"We have the right site, the right ownership group and a loyal base of fans counting down the days until our first match. We're all in on Overtown, and we couldn't be more excited about moving forward with plans to deliver the most responsible stadium in Miami history."

Meanwhile, while Beckham is on his way of fulfilling one of his life's dreams, his wife Victoria is said not to be interested in granting the wish of the millions of fans of the girl group that she was once part of. According to some sources, the former Spice Girls member, who was also known as "Posh Spice," has turned down the plans for a Spice Girls reunion despite all other members of the girl group pleading her to as she is focused on her family and her business.
