David Crowder Band Featured in CNN
To start off the Gospel Music Week, David Crowder had an interview via satellite with CNN's anchor Catherine Callaway, linked from Nashville to CNN's headquarters in Atlanta. During the interview, Crowder was asked about his music and the appeal especially to college students.
"It is just amazing the wave of popularity that your music is receiving," states Catherine Callaway at one point during the interview...Do you consider yourself a rock star?"
"I’ve got a really good pal that says 'you guys [the David Crowder Band] are more like a moon than a star,'" says Crowder. "Because the moon, if it wasn’t for the sunshine, is just a ball of dirt. For us, the light of Christ, when it shines on us, it’s just a beautiful collision. We are more interested in attracting attention to God than ourselves."

The David Crowder Band is in Nashville for the Gospel Music Week and the 35th Annual Music Awards, which will be shown on April 28th in selected Regal Movie Theatres.
The band is nominated for two Dove Awards: Praise and Worship Album of the Year, for their 2nd release and No. 1 selling album, Illuminate; and "Special Event Album of the Year" for Passion: Sacred Revolution- Songs from OneDay'03. The event was a live recording of OneDay03, where over 20,000 college students gathered for worship and prayer for spiritual awakening and arise in this generation. The event was also a CNN feature.
During the year, David Crowder Band has performed at over 200 concerts all over the country. One of the events was the Passion Experience Tour, which was held also in New York City on April 15 providing a night of worship and prayer to 3,000 young people. The event was also covered by John Leland of the New York Times who attended and wrote a feature entitled "Christian Music's New Wave".
