DC Comics COO and Producer to Head Warner Bros.' DC Films Division

If there is one good thing that stemmed from the critical backlash that "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," it's got to be the changes that it caused in Warner Bros. It was announced some weeks ago that Ben Affleck has been elevated to the position of being the executive producer of the upcoming "Justice League: Part 1."

However, the latest positive change happening in the studio is that DC Comics CCO, Geoff Johns and Producer Jon Berg will head the superhero film unit of Warner Bros. in order to ensure that the mistakes made by director Zack Snyder in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" won't happen again.

According to the report of The Hollywood Reporter, Johns and Berg will head a new department created in Warner Bros for the DC Films division. Additionally, they have also been tasked to produce "Justice League." As Berg has ties with Affleck---with both of them having worked together in the films "Argo," "Live by Night," and the recently shown "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice--- The Hollywood Reporter believes that this development surely bodes well for the upcoming "Justice League" movie. Berg is also the producer of the yet-to-be shown "Suicide Squad" and "Wonder Woman."

On the other hand, Johns is making waves in the television as a producer of the DC superhero series "Arrow," "The Flash," "Supergirl," and "DC's Legends of Tomorrow."

Despite raking in $869,852,278 as its worldwide gross, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" was heavily lambasted by the critics and fans alike. Some of the most common criticisms hurled at the movie was that it was too dark and had a scattered storyline. The lukewarm performance of the movie in the box-office allegedly caused the people in DC and Warner Bros to raise a red flag and do some major moves in the studio, leaving Zack Synder and Warner Bros. executives at loggerheads over the direction of "Justice League" and other DC movies in the can, as per Birth Movies Death.
