'DC's Legends of Tomorrow' Release Date, Cast Rumors: Falk Hentschel Puts on the Mask as the Hawkman

Yet another DC Comics superhero is coming over to the small screen. Latest casting report on The CW's highly anticipated action adventure TV series "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" indicated that "Reckless" alum Falk Henstchel is joining the DC TV fray as the masked and winged hero, Hawkman.

In an announcement made by the cable network, it was found out that the "Transcendence" star will play the character Carter Hall, Hawkman's alter-ego. Hall is the latest reincarnation of an Egyptian Prince "who is fated to reincarnate throughout time along with his soulmate, Kendra Saunders (played by Ciara Renee)."

In the comics, both Kendra and Carter can access the mythical powers of the Egyptian Hawk god, Horus, which enables them to become the winged warriors endowed with laser-point sight, superhuman strength, and incredible speed.

Hentschel will debut in the crossover episodes of the network's "Arrow" and "The Flash" which stars Stephen Amell and Grant Gustin as the titular entities, respectively.

His character will then continue to appear in the spinoff series of both shows, "Legends of Tomorrow," with Renee's Hawkgirl, Caity Lotz's White Canary, Brandon Routh's the Atom, Wentworth Miller's Leonard Snart/Captain Cold and more others.

The said show centers on the time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) who came into the present timeline to assemble a team of superheroes that will help stop a horrible future caused by the immortal villain, Vandal Savage.

In an earlier interview with TV Line, executive producer Phil Klemmer clarifies the issue of time-travel in the upcoming series.

"I don't know if we would always be moving to a new time period. I think part of the fun is living in this world and I think when we do travel to these periods of time – even though we have an uber-mission, to stop this sort of future Hitler character [Vandal Savage] – when we try to go back and fix things, we often screw things up," the executive producer explained.

"So I think a lot of our missions will be sort of correcting the mistakes that we started in one episode …"

"DC's Legends of Tomorrow" is slated to premiere in 2016.
