'Defiance' Season 3 News, Spoilers: Grant Bowler Talks About Nolan's Journey in the New Chapter

Syfy's hit science-fiction TV drama series "Defiance" is now ready to kick off its brand new third season this week. As reported earlier, the season will open up with two back-to-back episodes titled "The World We Seize" and "The Last Unicorns."

Main cast member Grant Bowler recently chatted with the people from TV Line to dish out some details for Season 3. One of the questions pointed out was about his character's upcoming journey.

"I asked Kevin [Murphy] for something to keep Nolan preoccupied aside from Irisa [Stephanie Leonidas], because he tends to run around after her a lot, and what he delivered was unbelievable," the actor who plays Joshua Nolan told TV Line.

"For the first time, Nolan becomes vulnerable in the sense that he falls down. He has always been this kind of unstoppable force of pragmatism that keeps marching forward no matter what happens, and in Season 3 he stumbles and falls, and he can't get up. As a result, we have this development in that [father/daughter] relationship where for the first time she has to become the adult. She has to pick him up off the ground and put him back together, and that was great to play," the actor continued.

Meanwhile, Zap2It shared the synopsis for the first opening two episodes.

For "The World We Seize:" "Nolan and Irisa are freed from their underground confinement to find Defiance in trouble."

For "The Last Unicorns:" "A mysterious race needs Nolan and Irisa's help if a diplomatic incident is to be averted."

Both segments will air this Friday, June 12, starting at 8 p.m. on Syfy.
